Chinese Recipe - Fried Sliced Prawns

Ingredients:
- 1 ½ lbs prawns
- 1 tbsp wine
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp cornstarch
- ¼ lb bamboo shoot, cut into small slices
- ¼ lb cucumber, sliced
- 10 tbsp oil
Seasonings:
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar
- ½ tsp MSG
Directions:
- Shell prawns and remove black vein from each. Halve prawn and slice each half on bias into 4 small pieces.
- Sprinkle prawns with wine, then with salt, and finally with cornstarch.
- Heat 5 tbsp oil and fry sliced prawns until color changes. Remove to a plate.
- Heat 5 more tbsp oil and fry bamboo shoot and cucumbers.
- Add fried prawns and seasonings. Stir well and serve hot.
Note: Any vegetable like snow peas, carrots, or mushrooms may be substituted for bamboo shoot and cucumbers.
