Chinese Recipe - Slice Cold Abalone
|

Ingredients:
- ½ lb fresh abalone
- 1 stalk leek
- 5 slices ginger
- 3 tbsp wine
- 1 tbsp salt
Sauce:
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ tsp MSG
Directions:
- Scrub fresh abalone with brush and salt. Then remove meat from shell.
- Using plenty of water, boil abalone along with leek, ginger, wine, and salt for 2 hours until meat is tender.
- Remove meat from water and cut off black spongy part.
- When cool, slice very thin.
- Mix sauce ingredients and cover sliced abalone with sauce before serving.
Note: If dried abalone is used, soak it in water for 3 to 4 days before boiling. If canned abalone is used, simply slice and cover with sauce.
