Chinese Recipe : Fried Sesame Balls

Fried Sesame Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup high-gluten (sticky) rice flour
  • appropriate amount of white sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp fine sugar
  • 228g red-bean paste

Directions:

  1. Divide bean paste into small portions.
  2. Soak sesame seeds in boiling-hot water for 1/2 hour, drain dry.
  3. Mix flour with sugar, add two cups of cold water. Knead into a soft dough, cover with a wet towel for 1/2 hour. Divide into small portions. Press each into a bowl shape.
  4. Stuff them with bean paste and roll into balls. Roll on sesame seeds so that each ball is covered evenly. Fry in hot oil till golden-brown.
