Dr. Oz, a heart specialist and fitness expert has been showcasing the benefits of Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse on Oprah Winfrey's show. In order for the body to be healthy it is extremely valuable if the digestive system is cleaned regularly. This helps in weight loss and a stronger immune system.
The benefits of Acai berry are well known by now as a great body detox fruit. The fruit helps delay the aging process, add glow to the skin, fight cancer cells, boost metabolism to help weight loss, reduce the appetite, increase energy levels and leave a person feeling rejuvenated.
Here are some tips given by Dr.Oz on the diet and foods to be included:
- Antioxidant rich foods like blue berries
- Broccoli - it lowers the risk of cancer
- Tomatoes - they contain lycopene, an antioxidant
- Green or White Tea - their properties assist in health benefits
- Red Wine - one glass a day helps in preventing the cells from aging
- Drink lots of water.
- Include a lot of fiber in the diet.
- Discipline yourself with fixed times for meals. Do not binge between meals
- Eat dark colored fruits which are rich in anti-oxidants
- Include Acai berry in the diet as it is a very effective cleanser.
Dr. Oz's Green Drink Recipe
- 1 celery stick
- Half cup chopped parsley
- 2 apples cut
- A bunch of spinach
- A small 1" piece of peeled ginger route
- 1 lemon juice
- 1 medium cucumber
Mix all the ingredients in a blender adding four ounces of purified water and some ice cubes. In case one wants to make it sweet one can add some raw carrot, banana or unsweetened fruit juice. For cleaning the digestive system, Dr.Oz has suggested the following recipe:
Organic lemon juice - 2 table spoons
Maple syrup (Organic Grade B) - 2 table spoons
Cayenne pepper - 1/10 tea spoon
Filtered water - 10 ounces
Drink at least 60 ounces of this preparation every day for a maximum period of 30 days. A bit of laxative, if added, increases effectiveness.
