Chinese Recipe - Sea Moss and Mushroom Soup

This soup helps to replenish blood and darken hair

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz sea moss (Fatt-choy)
  • 3 oz straw mushroom
  • 3 oz dried beancurd sticks
  • 3 oz lotus roots
  • 2 slices ginger

Seasoning:

  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp light soy sauce
  • Dash of sesame oil
  • Dash of pepper

Directions:

  1. Soak and wash sea moss. Wash straw mushroom. Drain both well.
  2. Soak and cut dried beancurd sticks into 1 inch lengths. Wash and slice lotus roots.
  3. Heat ½ tbsp oil. Sauté ginger. Add suitable amount of water and bring to a boil. Put in dried beancurd sticks. Parboil for 5 minutes.
  4. Add sea moss, straw mushroom and lotus roots. Bring to a boil. Stir in seasoning. Serve hot.
